Performance Responsibilities:
1. Reviews with a designated staff member, all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
2. Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned.
3. Teaches the lessons outlined and described in the lesson plan prepared by the absent teacher.
4. Consults with the principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the lesson plans.
5. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to supervise students at all times.
6. Leaves a written report for the teacher on the day's activities.
7. Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good practice dictates.
8. Abides by all district and school policies as outlined in both the district and school substitute teacher
guidelines.
Please note: Substitute teachers are employed on a daily basis and will be paid on the 15th of the month for work done from the 1st through the 31st of the previous month.
Evaluation:
The principal and teachers will evaluate the performance of all substitute teachers on the basis of the duties outlined above.
Procedure for applying:
Apply via the District One Employment portal.
Pick up a substitute employment packet from the district office.
Complete all paperwork in the packet and turn in to Mrs. Blackwood in the Personnel Office.
All references must be complete before your application if further processed. A reminder: DO NOT list family members as references.
Once all paperwork has been screened and processed, including a detailed reference check based on the provided employment history, we will schedule an interview with the Personnel Director.
Until the Personnel Office notifies you that you have been approved, you will not be considered for a substitute employee.
Once you are approved, then you should proceed with getting the TB skin test. A TB form will be provided and instructions for obtaining the test.
We reserve the right to refuse to approve any applicant who does not meet the expectations of employees in our district for working with our students.
