Would you like to be a bus driver for Spartanburg District One Schools?  To be certified to drive a school bus for the state of South Carolina, applicants go through a  training process that includes classroom instruction and testing as well as behind-the-wheel instruction and testing. They must obtain a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) and a School Bus Certificate.  After becoming a school bus driver, every driver must receive annual State Department of Education-mandated training.


The following are the eligibility requirements for employment as a District One Schools Bus Driver:


For this position, we are also looking for drivers with good communication skills and the ability to support the bus aide who assists on the route.  Additionally, you should have training in wheelchair securement or be willing to receive this training. Drivers are responsible for obtaining a Department of Transportation physical and proof of a clear tuberculosis test completed within the last 12 months.   Copies of the applicant's official birth certificate, Social Security card, and driver's license are also required.
