Position Overview:
Spartanburg School District One is launching an innovative AI Tools for Teachers pilot program aimed at enhancing personalized learning through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. We are seeking an experienced AI Integration Coach/Facilitator to lead the professional development and technical support for teachers as they implement these tools into their daily teaching practices. The role will involve providing hands-on support, coaching, and guidance to educators, helping them harness the power of AI to create personalized, engaging, and efficient learning environments for students.

Key Responsibilities:
- Professional Development & Coaching:
- Conduct initial and ongoing training sessions for teachers on selected AI platforms through planning, modeling, co-teaching, training, and data analysis across all content areas
- Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with district-level instructional supervisors
- Provide one-on-one or small group coaching to help educators effectively integrate AI tools into their classrooms.
- Develop training materials, guides, and video tutorials tailored to different teacher proficiency levels.
- Support teachers in creating differentiated instructional materials and personalized learning plans using AI.
- Technical Assistance:
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical support related to AI platforms used in the pilot program (e.g., ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Diffit, MagicSchool, etc.).
- Troubleshoot software issues, provide real-time assistance and work closely with the IT department to ensure seamless technology integration.
- Create and manage an online support portal and community forum where educators can access resources and share experiences.
- Data Analysis & Program Effectiveness:
- Assist teachers in using AI tools to analyze student performance data, identify learning gaps, and develop targeted interventions.
- Collaborate with the AI Integration Facilitator to track AI tool usage, collect feedback from teachers, and monitor the program’s impact on student outcomes and improvement on content knowledge and pedagogical skills
- Support the evaluation process by conducting surveys, gathering anecdotal success stories, and analyzing metrics related to AI’s effectiveness in the classroom.
- Interpret results and communicate findings to improve instructional practices and maximize student learning.
- Helps the improvement process for school-specific goal planning
- Ongoing Support & Program Refinement:
- Provide continuous support to all 550 teachers in the district as the AI tools are rolled out district-wide, ensuring a smooth transition from the pilot to full implementation.
- Participate in focus groups, staff meetings, and other feedback sessions to gather input and recommend adjustments to the program as needed.
- Stay informed about advancements in AI in education and provide teachers with updated best practices.
- Assist in developing AI use policy for the district.
- Develop a long-term sustainability plan for the continued implementation of the AI initiative.
- Secure grant funding for subsequent years beyond the current one-year grant.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience or relevant instructional coaching experience.
- Proficiency in using AI tools and educational technologies, with the ability to train and support educators at various skill levels.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a passion for helping educators innovate.
- Experience in data analysis and the ability to use data to inform instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and technical staff.
- Familiarity with platforms like Google Gemini, ChatGPT, and other AI-based educational tools is a plus.
